Keemchi, founded by Ikram Ibrazimov and his team in 2017, is a restaurant chain that blends Korean cuisine with sustainable and modern solutions. The chain is renowned for its Bibimbap dishes and for creating everything from scratch, from the food to the design of the restaurant interiors, with a strong emphasis on quality. Since 2017, Ikram Ibrazimov and his team have built Keemchi – a restaurant chain that combines Korean cuisine with sustainable and modern solutions. Keemchi is known both for its variety of Bibimbap dishes and for doing everything from scratch. From the food to the design of the restaurant interiors, every detail reflects quality and care. Today, Keemchi operates in four locations in Stockholm and one in Uppsala. The restaurant has also built a social media following of thousands, sharing viral clips that showcase both the food and the overall experience.

Beyond the food, Keemchi is an example of how innovation can transform a traditional industry. Drawing from his background in IT, Ikram has applied strategic methods to make the restaurant business more agile and efficient. One example is Keemchi’s use of advanced point-of-sale systems, creating a seamless experience from ordering to serving the food.

“We do everything ourselves,” says Ikram. “From recipes and food to design and interiors. We rarely collaborate with external firms, instead relying on our strong team, which includes individuals with diverse expertise in marketing, design, architecture, and food.”

Keemchi's bespoke plating

As a restaurant owner, you often need to make quick decisions and invest at the right time. When it was time to complete the restaurant in Östermalm, Ikram realized there was a need for financing to meet the high standards of interior design and experience that Keemchi is known for. At that point, securing loans from traditional banks proved challenging, so Keemchi turned to Froda.

“We needed a quick solution, and Froda made the process incredibly smooth. We applied in the morning, and by the evening, the application was approved, and the funds were disbursed. It was truly that seamless—just the way we like to work.”

Keemchi differentiates with 3D-printed furniture

Ikram describes the future of Keemchi as an opportunity to challenge and innovate within the restaurant industry. “Our vision is to build the restaurant of the future. We want to think differently—from using innovative materials like 3D-printed furniture to creating a complete experience for our guests. Restaurants have looked the same for hundreds of years, and we want to change that.”

Drawing inspiration from countries like Korea and Japan, Keemchi aims to continue driving innovation and creating something truly unique.
