Gösta Christiansson is the entrepreneur who runs the company Sneckenström, an e-commerce company that focuses wholeheartedly on horticulture for everyone. Since 2008, Sneckenström has existed and gilded people's gardens with all sorts of products. Everything from seeds to pallet collar greenhouses and lighting. But Christiansson has been an entrepreneur longer than that, for over 20 years he ran a transport company, but with the financial crisis of 2008, the train stopped there. With his passion for growing veggies and wanting to make more people feel the premium feeling that comes with growing their own vegetables for their cooking, Sneckenström was started and the focus was placed directly on the environment and sustainability. The basic idea is that you should grow what you eat.

"I strive to, as far as it is possible, to grow naturally.” This was one of the reasons why he also registered and started creating his own products, including guano. It is high content of phosphorus, which is needed in the soil for it to germinate in the best possible way. It started with the fact that Christiansson did not personally appreciate commercial fertilizer, because it depletes the soil that is cultivated, so he began to look for alternatives. Guano, which is basically manure from bats, contains a lot of phosphorus, which is a good substance for making the crop feel good.

“It's great to have vegetables that you grow yourself. To be able to go and pick directly from one's cultivation in the summer and prepare a meal that always feels best, because you can really stand for the craft, time and energy that is behind it.”

How Froda was able to help

Sneckenström used Froda in 2023 to further grow and buy inventory in order to increase turnover. The funding was used to be able to buy new into the warehouse and to be able to expand and maintain momentum. Sneckenström has been profitable since its start. Growing at the right pace with profits is Christiansson's slogan.

Why did you choose Froda?

Christiansson points outhow incredibly impressed he is by Froda. After an application, the money was in the business account within 45 minutes, which made him, in his own words, almost speechless. “The point is that Froda is primarily flexible. That you don't lock your business in for periods of time. I can use the capital when I need to, and pay for what I use. It's great as an entrepreneur to be able to do it that way. If you have an old bank loan, then you are in a sense stuck in my opinion. At Froda I can settle the loan if I need to, and that is quite a big deal in itself. I can even extend my loan when it suits me. It's absolutely amazing. It is revolutionary.”

What does it look like in the future for Sneckenström?

The future is bright for Sneckenström, according to Christiansson. The affair keeps on growing and there is a creak in the joints to expand the layer further, which could be considered as a solid proof of success. “As an entrepreneur for so many years, I am now driven to see my company grow. In the coming years, I see that it will at least double or triple in turnover, and this is so that I can have time to create more products and brands that will support everyone's cultivation projects. To be able to produce something that is special to me and my business.”

From day one, the focus has been on growing and making it through hard work and passion. This is also reflected in conversations with Christiansson, and we are pleased to see Sneckenström grow further. It is entrepreneurial drive in its essence.
